Alloy Steel ASTM A335 P1 pipes are designed for certain applications and can be subject to failure under hydrochloric acidic conditions due to risk of various natural corrosion and erosion. Also, this ASTM A335 P1 Chromium Moly Pipes are conditioned to work only under specific temperature or it can result in decrease in toughness and can also lose it authentic form. While the main USP of these pipes are that they provide excellent resistance to corrosions over other steel grades. This austenitic P1 Alloy Steel Seamless Pipes are designed to fight pure sulfuric acid. It also protects the metal from localized pitting and oxidation. The chemical components like chromium, molybdenum and nitrogen in addition to other base components help the metal enhance its quality by improving overall anti-corrosive properties.
ASTM A335 P1 – Common Use Grade
While the ASTM A335 P1 pipe is extensively used in various industries like offshore oil drilling, pharmaceutical equipment, power plants, chemical equipment, sea water equipment, petrochemical, heat exchanger, condensers, pulp and paper industries, marine applications, and many more. This grade attracts many commercial sectors due to its high resistance to corrosion and good workability.

The chrome or chromium prevents pitting and other localized corrosions with an added protection to acidic oxidation. While the molybdenum acts as a skin to the metal protecting it from various crevice corrosions and withstand adverse environmental conditions like in marine water applications. This Grade P1 Alloy Steel Pipe also go under solution annealing to increase the overall strength and toughness at specified temperature, which is later quenched and cooled off the bat. To compliment this the mechanical properties add value to the metal, with a minimum yield strength of 205 MPa and a similar to other grades tensile strength of 415 MPa with an elongation of 30%.
