The API 5L Grade B pipes are made up of high density steel which contains various alloys. These pipes come in various thicknesses, diameters, and quality. API 5L Grade B specified line pipes are manufactured in two product levels, PSL1 and PSL2. Suitable for seamless and welded (ERW) pipes. These pipes also have longer durability and possess anti corrosive properties, which helps them sustain in extreme conditions and high temperatures. While talking about the basic chemical composition of these Grade B pipes, which provides value to the product has high chromium oxide, nickel, molybdenum, carbon, copper, manganese, sulfur, phosphorus, and other chemical elements as per the said industry standards.

ASTM A53 Grade B – Common Use Grade

These chemical properties help the product from extreme heat, water, and other fluids, provide resistance against corrosion, and sustain under high pressure. As one of the most common grades used commercially, it is built under different dimensions ranging from ½” to 48” as per the client’s said specifications. The API 5L Grade B pipes, ASTM A106 Grade B carbon steel seamless pipes, and A53 Grade B. share similar chemical components and mechanical properties.

They possess minimum yield strength of 240 MPa and basic tensile strength of 415 Mpa, while this alloy is made up of carbon steel.
